J'espère que la France aura une équipe pour la représenter!

Ce serait dommage d'héberger un tel évènement et de ne pas montrer l'exemple...

 

Pour les autres championnats, je m'inquiète moins :lol:

Honnetement je trouve qu'on fait du foin autour des féminines et qu'on assure pas derriére... :lol:

L'exemple de Claire qui e désengage des championnat et comprehensible du moins pour moi.

Quand on fini bien classé d'un championnat d'europe ou du monde féminin on ne peut espérer monter avec les "GRAND"

Certes Claire n'a pas toujours un caractére facile, (excuses moi Claire) mais pour avoir cotoyer d'autres sportif de haut niveau c'est pas toujours avec des fleurs...

D'ailleurs j'estime qu'elle on du mérite les filles dans ce monde de matcho...

Donc pour Bailleau j'ai un doute

Je ne pensais pas uniquement à Claire et c'était plutôt une bouteille à la mer en cette

"journée de la femme".

 

Je ne rentrerai pas dans le débat sur la sélection de qui que ce soit, et je respecte le choix de Claire.

 

Il y a une vingtaine d'années, il y avait plusieurs pilotes qui avaient pu être sélectionnées

pour représenter la France lorsqu'un des premiers championnats d'Europe se tint à Chérence,

avec de bons résultats.

 

Ensuite, il y eut surtout Christine Moroko, qui rapporta son lot de médailles mais qui un jour

également préfèra aller faire autre chose.

 

Claire a alors été mise en puissance, et la France n'a pas eu à le regretter.

On a peut-être raté le coche quand, à la même époque, il aurait peut-être été possible

de sélectionner Jutta en équipe de France, malgré sa nationalité allemande.

Ca aurait certainement donné encore plus de médailles à la France, et ça aurait allégé

un peu la charge d'unique représentante qui pesait sur les épaules de Claire.

 

Il faut savoir montrer notre gratitude envers les pilotes qui ont su nous apporter des podiums,

mais il faut aussi espérer qu'une relève se dessine.

 

Simplement, d'ici 2007, il va falloir faire vite...

You are 13000 glider pilots in France! Are you telling me that you cannot dig up 6 or 9 qualified competition pilots?

 

The competitors list for this years competition is not too big….mainly because the Western countries seems to be boycotting it (www.wwcg2005.de).

Some time ago Somebody planted the idea of Womens Worlds in my head. He was French.

 

Some other time, when I lived I Germany, I was one evening discussing the subject with some German guy, claiming to be Coach. He said that my arguments for not participating in the womens worlds were weak and basicly he was convinced that I was just afraid to be measured with other women.

 

(It must be a German invention in the first place. In Germany they also have special parking places for women…whether it is to favour the women or protect the men and their cars, I don’t know.)

 

Now, when I have finally taken the chance to fly such a competition, many people call me a fool…..thanks.

I see the Women WGC as a step on the latter ; a possibility to gain experience abroad and it is definitely better training than to endlessly fly the nationals in my home country, which can be done for years without any changes, due to our system.

 

If more French girls had this opportunity I think you would see surprises at your nationals in the years to come (the exact same thing goes for the Danish system! And Swedish! And Norwegian! And probably a whole lot of other systems).

 

Of course this would give an unfair advantage in comparison to the large male majority (who would then be left hopelessly behind? ), but if it could do something to maintain or raise the number of glider pilots nationally and world wide, who cares then?

The Elite can’t exist without the Breadth, and the Breadth can’t exist witout the Elite. :lol:

It is not all too late, Napoleon, Lauga, and the rest of the lot in the selection comitée; 31st of March is the deadline, and I could, seriously, use a trustworthy partner in the 15m class .

The competition, at least in this class, will definetly not be inferior ; with Netusilova and Treslova in front of the Czech team it won’t be easy to get in the top. Netusilova was 10th in Lituania last year .

For 2007 I personally try to prevent my participation by being either qualified for the EGC in Issoudun or pregnant, but if these plans A and B fail it is not out of the question. BUT: We are some girls here on the stormy shores of Scandinavia, which try to organise a development program with the only goal to qualify more pilots for this competition.

It will definetly not be easy, but the competition is scheduled and I find boycott a destructive attitude for our sport in general .

 

In this context we must urge Bailleau to keep the costs down . The costs of 2005 in Klix are just to the upper limit of what people want to pay.

Je ne voudrais pas revenir sur le débat de l'utilité des championats " féminins" ( bien que s'il y a un sport où, d'après moi, les femmes sont "l' égale" des hommes, c'est le vol à voile...) mais simplement constaté que l'Allemagne et la France se sont vus attribuer 3 championnats du monde en moins de 10 ans.Je veux bien que ce sont les + grandes nations vélivoles du monde...mais je trouve cela un peu exagérer.Ne me dites pas qu'il n'y avait pas d'autres candidats!!!

Yes and no.

We do not use to qualify pilots in a french team just to fill empty places. Nowadays at least

We expect them to earn medals for the french gliding movement, as medals are the only

thing in which are interested people who give money, grants, etc.

 

Are women championships a good thing? I do not know and I do not care.

I have been sent twice as a captain of the french female team (1987 and 1995) and the only

aim we had was to get the best places, not to answer such a question, or even more

to try to increase the number of pilots in the World...

 

But when we apply for the organization of an international event, I guess we have

to be coherent also in our own participation in it.
