Version 5.06 will be declared a *highly-recommended* update, and we will ask you to actively communicate this to all your clients as well without delay once formally released.

 

 

 

Key changes between 5.04 and 5.06:

 

· Included leap-second adjustment from June 30, 2012. Leap seconds are the difference between GPS and UTC time, the last adjustment took place in 2008. Leap seconds are transmitted by the satellites to GPS receivers, but it might take up to 12 minutes for this to happen on a flight.

 

· Improved alarm handling and alarm suppression in situations with 3+ aircraft present.

 

· Corrected fixed-obstacle distance estimation.

 

· New serial port sentence $PFLAL: With this, flight logs also from 3rd party designs can be used for FLARM search&rescue (see German text http://www.flarm.com/support/SAR_Text.pdf or article in AeroKurier 07/2012) and the range analyzer (http://www.flarm.com/support/analyze/index_en.html).

 

· New serial port config-sentence RADIOID to query the active radio ID, i.e. the ID received by other aircraft. It is important to know this for airport-ground stations, search&rescue and www.flarmnet.org

 

· Improved PFLAA sentence bandwidth management on serial port.

 

· Adapted frequency settings in Western Asia (already included in v5.05).
